Oarai Isosaki Shrine

Located in Oarai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, this shrine is dedicated to two deities: Ōnamuchi no Mikoto and Sukunahikona no Mikoto.

These two gods worked together to lay the foundation of Japan and are revered as deities of medicine.

The shrine's main building was once destroyed during the Warring States period due to conflict, but the current worship hall and the simple thatched main hall were restored by Tokugawa Mitsukuni, the second lord of the Mito domain, and completed in 1730 as an Edo-period architectural structure.
