A rare shrine where the entire island is the temple grounds!

"Aoshima Shrine"

Aoshima Shrine is a popular tourist spot in Miyazaki.
The shrine is located in the center of Aoshima, where the entire island is said to be the shrine grounds, and you can visit by crossing the Yayoi Bridge that spans the island.
This is the setting for the famous myth "Umisachihiko and Yamasachihiko," and it is also the place where Yamasachihiko and Toyotamahime were united, so it is said to be a blessing in finding love.

■Opening hours: Worship hours are from 6:00 to sunset, but evening hours change depending on the season. Amulets and goshuin are given out from 8:00 to 17:00 except during New Year's holidays.
