Kannonji River Sakura

Kannonji River in Fukushima Prefecture is one of the most popular and beautiful cherry blossom viewing spots in the Tohoku region. Both sides of the river are lined with various species of cherry trees, totaling around 200 trees. When in full bloom, they create a stunning cherry blossom tunnel stretching approximately 1 kilometer. The best time to visit for cherry blossom viewing is usually from late April to early May, depending on the weather each year. During this period, the Kannonji River Sakura Matsuri festival is held, featuring food stalls where visitors can purchase snacks and enjoy them while admiring the blossoms along the riverbank. If you're visiting Fukushima, this is a must-see destination.
