📍 Incheon Chinatown 🥟
Address: 50-2 Chinatown-ro, Jung-gu, Incheon (Simrihyang)
After visiting Wolmido, we headed to Incheon Chinatown. For parking, we used the public parking lot at Jayu Park, which is about a 10-minute walk to Chinatown. The stroll to the entrance of Chinatown is pleasant, and you'll be greeted by murals and the Emperor's Staircase.
Incheon Chinatown offers a wide variety of street food, including fire-roasted dumplings, hollow bread, mooncakes, Shandong-style dumplings, and xiaolongbao. The fun lies in choosing what to eat! This time, we visited Simrihyang, a famous fire-roasted dumpling shop in Chinatown. Although there was a long queue in front of the shop, waiting in line allows you to watch the dumplings being roasted in the oven, which builds anticipation.
Simrihyang's fire-roasted dumplings are cooked to a golden crisp in a charcoal oven. The exterior is crunchy, while the inside is packed with juicy meat. With one bite, the flavorful juices and savory taste fill your mouth. They also sell a new spicy mala dumpling, which has a subtle mala aroma that makes it even more appealing than the regular meat dumplings. Both the classic fire-roasted dumplings and the mala dumplings are best enjoyed fresh and warm, offering a unique taste and comforting warmth.
Eating fire-roasted dumplings and exploring the alleys of Incheon Chinatown is a delightful experience. Simrihyang dumplings are definitely worth the wait and are a must-try street food when visiting Chinatown.
