Wat Klang Wiang
.. is a temple and historical site in Chiang Rai Province, located on Utrakit Road, Wiang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province.
.. The principal Buddha image is made of stucco in the Mara-Vijaya attitude. It was originally in the Tai Khun style of art. Later, it was renovated by building over the original one. It is in the Lanna style, lacquered and gilded all over. It is called "Phra Chao Phet Mongkhon Muni".
.. and is the location of the ancient navel of Chiang Rai City. It is shaped like a pumpkin-shaped stupa with a high top. It is approximately 6 cubits in diameter and 8 cubits high. A pavilion was built to cover it.
