For those of you planning a trip to Istanbul, if you have at least half a day to spare, be sure to check out Dolmabahçe Palace!

Built in the 19th century as an Ottoman palace, this building boasts a spectacular entrance and an overwhelmingly opulent interior that's truly a sight to behold.

Unfortunately, photography is prohibited inside the palace, but once you step inside, you'll get a real sense of the power and might of the Ottoman Empire at the time.
