Basic Information

- Opening Hours: Generally 08:30-16:45, extended to 08:30-01:30 the next day on Fridays. Note that visits should avoid Muslim prayer times, especially Friday noon.

- Admission: Free.

- Location & Transportation: Located at Prof. Sıddık Sami Onar Cd. No:1, 34116 Fatih/İstanbul, Turkey. Take the TRAM to Eminonu Station, face the Spice Bazaar, take the uphill path on the left, follow signs and turn right - about 10-15 minutes walk. Alternatively, it's a 20-30 minute walk from Istanbul's Old City Square.

Visiting Tips

- Suggested Route: First explore the courtyard to admire the white marble architecture and golden Quranic inscriptions on the lintels. Then enter the main hall, noting the central dome supported by four pillars showcasing Byzantine structural design. Finally, visit the backyard where you can sit on the wall overlooking the Golden Horn.

- Recommended Duration: Allow 1-2 hours to fully appreciate the mosque's architectural details and interior decorations.

- Important Notes: Remove shoes before entering the main hall. Women should wear long pants/skirts and preferably cover their heads. No flash photography, and respect no-photography zones.
