The US Botanic Garden's location on the Capitol Grounds inherently gives it a feeling of historic, formal grandeur during the harvest season. While the garden doesn't do "silly" Halloween decorations, the seasonal planting outside the Conservatory is elegant and deeply traditional. Think massive, perfectly groomed displays of chrysanthemums, ornamental grasses, and large, deep-hued gourds. The ambiance is one of classic American harvest, reflecting the garden's history dating back to George Washington's vision. It’s a very stately, patriotic, and beautiful way to ring in the season.
