My discoveries at the Istanbul Archaeological Museum

I have a special reverence for museum exhibits. I often find myself wondering, as I look at them, what the person who used them looked like, what they felt, and what challenges they faced. Especially when it comes to ancient artifacts created before our era 🪨 These include household items, tablets, jewelry, and coins.

🏛️ The Istanbul Archaeological Museum is like a teleport to the past, as it houses a vast collection of exhibits (over a million!) from various eras: ancient Babylon and Egypt, Mesopotamia, Antiquity, and the Ottoman period.

💎 Most of the exhibits are remarkably well-preserved.

🗺️ Pay special attention to these finds: the Sidon Marble Sarcophagus depicting Alexander the Great, the statue of the Ephebe, and fragments of statues from the Temple of Zeus in Pergamon.

📍Located near Gülhane Park and Topkapi Palace.
