
The Liaoning Provincial Museum, formerly known as the Northeast Museum, is located on Sijing Street, Heping District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province.
The museum was originally the residence of Tang Yulin, the governor of Rehe, and is one of the famous large-scale historical and art museums in my country.
The overall building is elegant and magnificent. Liaoning Provincial Museum is well-known both at home and abroad for its rich collection of exquisite works.
Among the museum's collection of more than 100,000 items, calligraphy, paintings, silk embroidery from past dynasties, fine cultural relics unearthed in Northeast China, as well as Liao porcelain, currency, inscriptions, ancient maps, etc. are the museum's special collections.
The museum's collection of cultural relics consists of 18 categories, totaling more than 100,000 pieces.
Among them, calligraphy, paintings, silk embroidery, ancient maps, Liao Dynasty ceramics and other treasures from the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties are well-known both at home and abroad.
Among the archaeological collections, there are cultural relics of the Jinniu Mountain Paleolithic Age in Yingkou and relics of the Hongshan Culture in western Liaoning, which were unearthed in recent years. They are extremely valuable physical materials for studying the early history of mankind, the 5,000-year history of the origin of Chinese civilization, the history of religious thought, and the history of sculpture art.
