Ancient Castle Ruins with Stunning Views

Right over Joshua hill, overlooking where the Bosphorus meets the Black Sea. After about a 20-minute walk from Anadolu Kavagi village, you reach the remnants of an ancient Byzantine castle. It was used for centuries to defend Constantinople from Turkish raids, but they eventually lost it in the late 14th century, briefly holding it before ceding it to the Genoese for a few decades. When the city fell in 1453, the Ottomans reclaimed it, using it as a fortified defense point against foreign threats. Now in ruins, it remains a popular spot for visitors to enjoy the spectacular view.
