Japan's Ito Onsen

Ito Onsen is located in the Higashi-Izu area of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture. It is one of Japan's three major hot spring resorts, alongside Beppu and Atami. It takes approximately 1.5 hours to reach from Tokyo by Shinkansen.
There are many hot spring hotels in the area, with Ito Kowakien being particularly notable for its unique location. It has a limited number of rooms and is conveniently close to the train station.
The shopping street has a somewhat desolate atmosphere, as many stores are no longer in operation. However, the town as a whole retains the charm of a quaint Japanese small town.
