A must-go for family trips! #Izu Cactus Zoo

Many people know that they go to Atami near Izu City to soak in hot springs, enjoy cherry blossoms, and savor delicious food. However, in a place in the suburbs, there is a place where you can pet small animals and see different species of cacti!

At the end of our trip to Tokyo on 31/1, the kids were not feeling well, probably because the weather was too cold. But when they heard that we would charter a car to see animals that day, they immediately perked up! After visiting the Itokawa hiking trail to see the early cherry blossoms, we drove for about an hour to reach our destination.

This place is very big. Unlike Mother Ranch, it has more animal species and a lot of space for animals to move around. There aren't too many cages, but instead their activity spaces are divided, such as the owl house and bird area. Therefore, we can get very close to the animals and even walk on the road with them. I was a little scared at first, but I saw the child walking very happily. He was not startled even when an owl flew by. He looked like he was enjoying it.

In addition to the above, there are also marmots, wild boars, bats, goats, water snakes, river snakes, gorillas and many more. Just look at the map of the park and you will be surprised that there are so many kinds of animals here! In addition, there is a cactus museum where you can see a wide variety of species; there is also a souvenir shop and cactus plants can be purchased.

We stayed for more than an hour and then left because the park closes at 4 o'clock (January). The children were very reluctant to leave. If we had arrived earlier, we could have walked more, played more, and would have been happier!

The road here is easy to walk on and there are many animals to see on both sides. I believe that adults and children will not feel tired easily!
