Settle Glocal Hotel Itoshima Single Room

The hotel is located in Itoshima and is part of the Glocal Hotel chain. Previously, I stayed at 15 places in Fukuoka City, 2 places in Kitakyushu City, and 1 place in Iizuka City. This was my first stay in Itoshima City.

On the first day, I arrived in Fukuoka at 6 PM, enjoyed afternoon tea in Tenjin, and checked in at 10 PM. From Tenjin, I took the subway Airport Line (JR Line) to Kyudai-Gakkentoshi Station.

From there, I boarded a city bus that runs about once an hour and traveled for 30 minutes to the final stop, 1 Course. The hotel entrance is just a minute's walk from the bus stop. Including the bus transfer time, the journey from Tenjin took about an hour and a half. The hotel is a four-story building.

The hotel features a clean public bath with artificial hot springs. Conveniently, there’s a large 24-hour Seven-Eleven store right across the street. The bathroom, toilet, and sink are separated into three distinct areas, and the hotel building has a modern and clean design.

The hotel seems to cater mainly to professors visiting Kyushu University for business trips or international visitors coming to the university. Observing the guests at the public bath and breakfast, most appeared to fit this profile.

I chose this hotel because breakfast starts at 6:30 AM, and the hotel collaborates with the Itoshima Tourism Association to offer rental bicycles. It was a suitable starting point for my trip, as I planned to begin in Itoshima and then move to Fukuoka.

Since it was a one-night, two-day trip, I had to manage my time efficiently. The rental bike was an electric bicycle, available from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, but I confirmed during check-in that I could start using it from 7:00 AM. After breakfast and checking out the next morning, I immediately began my Itoshima tour.

As the morning light brightened, the view from the window revealed Kyushu University. The hotel is located near the center of Itoshima, with Totoro’s Forest on the far left and Meoto Iwa also about 45 minutes away (helmets are mandatory for electric bicycles).

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, I visited five spots over four hours, covering approximately 40 kilometers. The electric bicycle, which can reach a maximum speed of 40 km/h, made uphill climbs easy and allowed me to take shortcuts through mountain paths without any issues. Thank you.
