Izumo Taisha Shrine

Izumo Taisha Shrine, located in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, is one of Japan's oldest and most important shrines. It enshrines Okuninushi-no-Mikoto, the deity of marriage and love, and oversees land and agriculture. The main shrine, built in the Taisha-style, stands 24 meters tall, making it the tallest shrine in Japan and a designated National Treasure.

On that day, the shrine was accessible by bus from JR Izumo Station, taking approximately 30 minutes.
