World Natural Heritage Geomun Oreum Trekking

It is said that it was called Black Oreum because the forest was so thick that it looked black. It is the only Oreum in Jeju Island that has been registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, because the lava flow from Geomun Oreum flowed down the slope to the northeastern coast, creating volcanic terrain and lava caves of high geological value. Since its registration as a natural heritage site, trekking has been operated on a reservation basis, and the exhibition gallery, 4D theater, and natural heritage exhibition hall in the information center can be visited without a reservation except on Tuesdays, which are closed days. Phone and online reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis from the 1st of the month before the desired visit, and same-day reservations are not possible.
