According to legend, Nezha sacrificed his life for his father by cutting off his bones and his mother's flesh, severing his bloodline. However, moved by his unwavering loyalty and filial piety, Taiyi Zhenren rebuilt Nezha's body from lotus roots and leaves, bringing him back to life.
