Chengdu Tianfu International Airport Review

I had a layover in Chengdu with Sichuan Airlines and decided to try the China Eastern lounge. I'll tell you right away - if you're planning a layover at this airport, you should definitely consider this option. When booking tickets on Trip.com, you can get the lounge at a discount, which makes it even more attractive.
First impression and atmosphere
The lounge greets you with an unusual design in Tiffany color - I didn't expect such a bright and stylish design! Pandas are everywhere: on the walls, in the decor, even on the napkins. Some might consider it kitsch, but I liked it - very Chinese and memorable. The space is really spacious, you don't feel like you're in a can of sprats, like in some other lounges.
Zoning and amenities
The lounge is cleverly divided into two main areas: for relaxation and for food. The relaxation area has comfortable chairs, you can calmly work on your laptop or just relax before the flight. WiFi works reliably, there are enough sockets.
Food and drinks
The choice of food is modest, but quite decent for a transit lounge. The main feature is the noodles that are cooked right in front of you. The cook works quickly, the noodles are hot and tasty. Plus rice, eggs cooked in different ways, several types of salads and traditional Chinese snacks.
As for sweets, there are cookies and local desserts. Nothing special, but you definitely won’t go hungry.
With drinks, everything is standard: tea (several types of Chinese), coffee from a machine, juices, water. There is also alcohol, but the choice is not rich - beer and a couple of types of wine.
Practical points
It is especially convenient that the lounge accepts passengers of different airlines - not only China Eastern. I flew Sichuan Airlines, but I got access without any problems. During a long layover, this really saves: there is a place to eat normally, relax and get yourself in order.
The staff is polite, but not everyone speaks English. However, it is enough for basic communication.
Bottom line
For the money (especially with the discount when booking), the lounge is quite worth it. Don't expect Michelin-level delights, but for a transit vacation, it's a great option. Unusual design, decent food, a comfortable seating area, and the ability to calmly wait out a layover make it a good choice for travelers via Chengdu.
I recommend it, especially if the layover is longer than 3-4 hours.
