Guifeng, also known as Guifeng, is part of the Longhushan-Guifeng Geopark and the Chinese Danxia World Heritage Site. It lies south of Yiyang County on the south bank of the Xinjiang River, 60 km east of Shangrao and 35 km west of Yingtan. It sits between Sanqingshan, Longhushan, and Wuyishan. It is named after the saying, "Every mountain has a turtle, every rock has a turtle." The mountain itself resembles a gigantic, proudly raised turtle. It is a National AAAA-rated Tourist Attraction.
Guifeng, developed in the Late Cretaceous period 135 million years ago, is a prime example of a mature, rain-eroded Danxia peak forest landform. Its landforms are characterized by peaks, steep cliffs, square hills, stone walls, pillars, and pinnacles. Rain-eroded longitudinal linear grooves have developed along the cliff walls, and the karst is weak. The micro-geomorphology and landscape composition are characterized by rare Danxia-shaped stone peaks and pillars, preserving traces of a mature Danxia landform.
