✅ Jiaxing South Lake - home to the Misty Rain Tower from Jin Yong's novels and the footsteps of Emperor Qianlong who visited eight times during his southern tours👣 This poetic city brimming with Jiangnan charm is just a 30-minute high-speed rail🚄 ride from Shanghai or Hangzhou. Perfect for spring/summer getaways, it's absolutely worth an extended stay.
✅ During a business trip, my friend and I spontaneously decided to stay at Jiaxing South Lake Hotel. We ended up extending our stay - the biggest takeaway? This is a tranquil retreat from urban chaos where you can embrace slow living at its finest!
【Design】
The hotel🏨 lakeside architecture incorporates local elements like horse-head walls and Guanyin eaves, harmonizing with ancient gardens like Misty Rain Tower, Lake Center Island, and Lanxiu Garden. Traditional waterside pavilions are reimagined with modern materials, blending heritage with innovation.
【Rooms】
We stayed in a "Deluxe Lakeview Twin Room" - spacious with a private balcony offering unique water views. The room embodies natural serenity, nurturing both body and soul. The bathroom features dual sinks and marble finishes with dry-wet separation. Chinese aesthetics meet modern comfort, letting you fall asleep to the gentle sounds of South Lake.
【Dining】
✅ Yuanhu Ge (1F) serves daily breakfast in a Japanese-inspired setting with courtyard views. Their dinner buffet is highly recommended - diverse and delicious😊
✅ Afternoon tea can be enjoyed either in the neo-Chinese lobby lounge or lakeside "Rain Talk Pavilion," offering both Eastern pastries and Western cakes🍰
✅ Don't miss the rooftop Japanese restaurant (3F) for supper - salmon, caviar, snow crab, grilled eel rice, and rotating hot dishes will tantalize your taste buds🍽️
【Facilities】
The third-floor wellness area boasts panoramic views, a fully-equipped gym, crystal-clear swimming pool🏊, and terrace lounge - perfect for post-workout relaxation. Morning Tai Chi sessions (1hr) are available for traditional wellness enthusiasts.
✅ 800m from Nanhu Tiandi, near Jiaxing Railway Station
✅ Gardens face the historic Red Boat across the water
✅ Wuxiang Pagoda visible from property
✅ Jiangnan-style architecture lulls you to sleep with lakeside whispers
