Day 1
Self-drive in Hangzhou for 2.5 hours—Xuancheng (lunch)—West entrance of Sichuan-Tibet Highway in Southern Anhui—Moon Bay—Shuimo Tingxi—Taoling Liudao Bay—Hotel

Day 2
Depart at 6:30 — Fallen Redwood Forest — Qinglong Bay — Moon Bay — Ningguo East Exit — Drive 2 hours to Hangzhou

Why choose to enter from the west and exit from the east?
Because the redwood forest is filled with morning mist in the early morning of November, you must get up early to see it.
If you choose the west entrance, you can rest for a night at the Halfway Hotel and set out to the redwood forest early the next morning.

We arrived at the hotel at around 2:00 p.m. and finally decided on this one after careful selection. The room was very spacious, with a whole wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, which cured the fatigue of half a day's running around. The temperature in the mountains had started to drop by then, so we arrived at the restaurant in time for afternoon tea.

The sunshine at four o'clock is beautiful, shining warmly in the backyard. I moved a chair and quietly enjoyed the leisure of the weekend.

You can take a short walk in the nearby mountains. It gets dark around 5 o'clock. The hotel has a restaurant, which is a good place to experience the characteristics of Huizhou.

🧾Itinerary
Starting from downtown Hangzhou, it takes about three hours to reach the western entrance of the Southern Anhui Sichuan-Tibet Highway (you can navigate directly). It is recommended to have lunch before entering the mountains. Next, we will officially start our self-driving journey on the winding mountain road, passing Taoling Liudaowan along the way.

Get up at six o'clock the next day and drive for about an hour to reach the Fallen Redwood Forest Scenic Area. The parking spaces in the scenic area are limited. It is strongly recommended to arrive before 8 o'clock in the morning, or stay in a homestay near the gate of the scenic area the night before. There is an outdoor viewing platform about 100 meters west of the Redwood Forest Scenic Area, which is an ideal drone shooting spot.

The roads on the west side of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway in Southern Anhui are generally narrow, so you must pay attention to passing safety. The roads on the east side of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway in Southern Anhui are slightly wider than the west side, but there are more traffic jams. If time permits, try not to drive there on weekends or holidays.
