Taoyi Fangnian Hotel — A hotel featuring a retro Republic of China style

Hotel: Jingdezhen Taoyi Fangnian Hotel (Taoyangli Historical and Cultural Tourism Area)
Style: Retro Republic of China style, Republic of China green tones

Hotel Highlights & Impressions

1. The rooms are clean, hygienic, and spacious. The shower and toilet are in separate compartments, with the washbasin outside, ensuring a full wet and dry separation. The room has a kettle with tea bags and instant coffee provided. I stayed in the Yanyu King Room; the window looks out onto a large expanse of eaves. There is also a walk-in closet in the room with two small stools and a small table facing the window, perfect for afternoon tea, chatting, and enjoying the view outside—a budget alternative to a balcony.
2. The experience is very good, mainly because of the excellent location inside the Taoyangli Scenic Area. You just need to show the hotel booking to the staff when entering or leaving the scenic area. The hotel consists of two buildings converted from former factory buildings. It is fully equipped, the rooms are clean, and the retro green design immediately helps you relax. I especially liked their king-size bed, which was soft and comfortable; I slept for 8 hours straight until dawn. The bed comfort is excellent.
3. The hotel is easy to find; navigation directs you to Longzhu Hotel, which is next to an entrance of the scenic area. Walk straight ahead about 50 meters, and you arrive. The hotel is less than 200 meters from the Imperial Kiln Museum. If you find it crowded during the day, you can choose to stroll around the scenic area at night. The night view of Taoyangli is beautiful, and there are fewer tourists, enhancing the experience. The front desk staff are warm and patient in answering questions. Longzhu Hotel (likely part of the same group as Fangnian) is across the street, where you can find authentic Fanshi beef bone noodles, supermarkets, cultural and creative shops, and many transportation options.
4. The room is spacious and well laid out. Breakfast is a buffet and very abundant. Sitting in the lobby on the first floor, in a retro green factory setting by the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, enjoying breakfast while admiring the distant red kilns of Taoyangli through the glass is truly delightful.
5. The staff are very enthusiastic; when they saw me walking by, they immediately stood up to help carry my luggage to the room and turn on the air conditioning. All hotel staff I encountered greeted me warmly.
6. This hotel focuses on Republic of China aesthetic space, emphasizing retro green, which contrasts with the red kilns of the Taoyangli Historical and Cultural Tourism Area, creating an immersive spatial exploration for guests. Therefore, I highly recommend Taoyi Fangnian and will choose it again without hesitation next time!
