Jingdezhen | Encountering Wabi-Sabi Aesthetics at This Hotel

Step into this hotel and instantly be captivated by its space. The rustic cement walls and warm wooden finishes create a unique wabi-sabi atmosphere. Even the cabinets and pottery in the corners resemble art installations.
Slip into a floral dress and don a wide-brimmed hat. Stand by the wall near the staircase, casually flipping through a book as light and shadow dance upon you—time itself seems to slow down. It feels less like staying at a hotel and more like wandering into a lifestyle art exhibition.
Here, every corner hides meticulous design. Even just standing quietly feels like engaging in a silent dialogue with the space.
The café in the common area holds delightful surprises. Vintage records adorn the cement walls, their cover stories floating in the interplay of light and shadow. Sink into a leather chair, the aroma of coffee blending with the warmth of time. Each breath carries a retro languor, as if stepping into a 1990s art film.
Next time I visit the Porcelain Capital, I’ll return to this haven of relaxation—letting my skirt sway in the mountain breeze and losing myself in reading amid the play of light. With rattan, clay, cement, and wood as my companions, I’ll continue writing another half-day of wabi-sabi serenity.
