Showa Shinzan: A Testament to the Earth's Renewal and Power

Located in Hokkaido, Showa Shinzan is a young active volcano born in the 20th century. It emerged from flat wheat fields between 1943 and 1945, a miraculous display of nature's force. The mountain, with its reddish-brown hue and an elevation of approximately 398 meters, still emits plumes of smoke today. Visitors can witness the earth's raw energy here while viewing the statue of Masao Mimatsu, who observed and documented the volcano's birth, commemorating his contributions to its preservation.
