Manting Park in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan - The Royal Garden of the Dai King

Manting Park is located in the southeast of Jinghong, the capital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, about 2 kilometers from the city center, in the triangular area where the Lancang River and Liusha River converge.
Manting Park has more than 500 well-preserved ancient ironwood forests and vegetation. The park has hills and rivers, and has a rich ethnic cultural landscape. It is a natural village-style park. It used to be the royal garden of the Dai King and has a history of more than 1300 years. The scenic area embodies the three main themes of 'Dai Royal Culture, Buddhist Culture, and Dai Folk Culture'.
Manting Park is the oldest park in Xishuangbanna, with a history of more than 1300 years. It used to be the royal garden of the Dai King of Xishuangbanna. It was a place where feudal lords and chieftains played and admired flowers in Dai history. Legend has it that when the Dai queen came to the park, the beautiful scenery of the park attracted the queen's soul, so it was named Chunhuan Park, which means 'Garden of Souls' in Dai.
The main entrance of Manting Park is located on the south side of the park. The park is equipped with six scenic spots: Ethnic Culture Square; Vine Plant Area; Royal Orchid Garden; Release Lake; Buddhist Culture Area; Tree Planting Memorial Area.
The Buddhist Culture Area has the Xishuangbanna General Buddhist Temple - Wabajie, which is famous in Southeast Asia, and the White Pagoda, Octagonal Pavilion, and Release Lake. Here you can appreciate the rich Theravada Buddhism culture by offering incense, tying Buddha lines, releasing lives and other Buddhist activities, and visiting the Pali Sutra.
The 6,000 square meters of black heart forest in the park, with vines and strange flowers and trees, colorful and competing for beauty, providing cool shade in summer and pleasant coolness. The Release Lake with blue waves, green grass and colorful flowers is a great place for leisure and entertainment.
Best season: October to June is the best, avoiding the rainy season. Jinghong has no extreme heat in summer and no severe cold in winter, and it is warm and pleasant all year round. May to October each year is the off-season, which is the rainy season.
