Land of the Five Sages, Light of Thought | Jining Museum (New Museum)

[Stroll through Shandong: Land of the Five Sages, Light of Thought] Jining has a long history and is the birthplace of five sages: Confucius, Yan Hui, Zengzi, Zisi, and Mencius. Confucianism has influenced China for over 2,000 years. The Jining Museum is small, but it has exquisite and interesting collections of bronzes and jades from the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, stone tablets from the Han Dynasty, Tang Sancai pottery figurines from the Sui and Tang Dynasties, and porcelain from the Yuan and Qing Dynasties. Among them, the bronze he with a dragon-shaped handle, beast head, hoof-shaped feet, round lid, and bird-shaped knob from the Spring and Autumn Period, the Tang Dynasty bronze mirror with a beast-shaped knob and a diamond-shaped floral pattern, and the Yuan Dynasty blue and white porcelain vase with a jade pot spring pattern are all exquisite treasures. In addition, Weishan Lake, the setting of the once-popular Chinese novel "Railway Guerrillas," is located in Jining.

📝Tips:
1. Free admission. During the May Day holiday, the museum is open until 19:00.
