The only means of transportation within Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area is the shuttle bus.
Ticket checking and entry to the valley start at 8:00.
🌟 Recommended Itinerary: Start with Rize Valley (note: stops may vary by season).
Enter the valley at 8:00 and head straight to Rize Valley.
After getting off the bus, find the Rize Valley stop at the intersection and take the shuttle bus to Rize Valley.
Get off at Five-Color Lake—it will be very quiet here (most visitors are taken directly to Arrow Bamboo Lake or the Terminal Primeval Forest). Five-Color Lake is the pride of Jiuzhaigou and worth spending extra time at.
After visiting Five-Color Lake, take the shuttle to Pearl Shoal Waterfall.
After exploring Pearl Shoal Waterfall, walk to Mirror Lake Bus Stop and take the shuttle to Nuorilang Center.
From Nuorilang Center, take another shuttle uphill and get off at Panda Lake—there will be slightly more people here by this time.
Take the shuttle from Panda Lake to Arrow Bamboo Lake and explore the area.
Take the shuttle from Arrow Bamboo Lake back to Nuorilang Center to start exploring the left branch.
Visit Swan Lake, Primeval Forest, and Fangcao Lake based on your schedule.
By around 12:00 noon, after finishing Rize Valley, take the shuttle directly from Nuorilang Center to Long Lake (approximately 20 minutes by shuttle). Then visit Five-Color Pond (it may be in low water season, but it’s still worth a look for its stunning colors). Allow about 1 hour for both Long Lake and Five-Color Pond.
Take the shuttle back to Nuorilang Center from Five-Color Pond, have a simple lunch, and start exploring the middle branch by 14:30.
Walk to Nuorilang Waterfall—the viewing platform here is highly recommended.
Take the shuttle to Rhinoceros Lake. You can walk around the lake and check out Tiger Lake along the way—it’s a great spot for photos.
Take the shuttle to Shuzheng Waterfall to see Shuzheng Lakes and the waterfall. There’s another viewing platform here (at the top right of Shuzheng Village); climb up if you have the energy.
