The Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai xianxia fans have gone crazy! Maoshan Dongfang Yanhu City is literally godlike. Who understands, family!

Who understands, family! Taking a few steps in Dongfang Yanhu City feels like stepping into a xianxia drama set, with blue tiles and white walls wrapped in mist. At night, when the lanterns light up, it’s even more stunning, directly welding the "cultivation atmosphere" onto you✨

🏮Must-visit spots (2 days 1 night itinerary)

1. Taiji Square: Rush in as soon as you enter! Every day at 10:00 there is a "Morning Bell and Evening Drum" performance. The Taoist priest striking the bell is full of ritual sense. Filming videos when the mist swirls will have your friends bombarding you for the location📸
2. Kanshui Method: An ancient-style "water park"! Wearing Hanfu and stepping on the stone slab bridge is super photogenic. You can also play in the water to cool off in summer. Remember to avoid noon (the sunlight is too strong to open your eyes)
3. Tianshi Platform: Climb high to overlook the whole town. Watching the sunset in the evening is amazing! When the sunset dyes the rooftops red, every casual shot is a "xianxia blockbuster"
4. Xiaoyao Illusion: A must-go at night! Holographic projection + light show, as if you are in a fantasy world. Starts at 20:00, arrive 10 minutes early to get front row seats
💡Itinerary: Day 1 Taiji Square performance → Kanshui Method photos → Tianshi Platform sunset → Xiaoyao Illusion light show; Day 2 Explore ancient-style shops → Experience Hanfu makeup and styling → Eat farmhouse dishes and return

🚗Transportation Guide

1. High-speed rail: Take the train to "Jurong West Station," then taxi 30 minutes to the scenic area (fare about 40 RMB), carpooling is also available (about 20 RMB per person)
2. Self-driving: Navigate to "Dongfang Yanhu City Visitor Center," 1.5 hours from Nanjing/Changzhou, parking 15 RMB/day, free parking if staying inside the scenic area
3. Scenic area transport: Walk around the town, and if tired, take the sightseeing bus (20 RMB/person, unlimited rides)

🍜Local Food (30 RMB per person to eat until full)

1. Maoshan Old Goose Noodles: A must-order at the "Taoist Restaurant" inside the scenic area! The goose meat is tender and flavorful, the soup is so fresh you’ll lick the bowl, 18 RMB/bowl
2. Tofu Pudding: Made fresh by the granny at the village entrance, savory with dried shrimp, super fragrant, 5 RMB/bowl, perfect for breakfast
3. Osmanthus Sugar Taro Shoots: Dessert lovers rush here! Soft and glutinous taro shoots coated with osmanthus syrup, 10 RMB/serving, refreshing and warming

❌Pitfall Warnings

1. Rent Hanfu from "official shops" inside the scenic area (50-80 RMB/day including makeup and styling), don’t trust roadside touts, easy to get scammed
2. Don’t buy "overpriced souvenirs"! Taoist sachets, kudzu root powder, and other specialties are cheaper at the supermarket at the scenic area exit
3. Staying in a homestay inside the scenic area is more convenient! No need to rush at night, and you can experience the joy of "overnight in a xianxia town," about 150 RMB/person per night
4. Remember performance times in advance! Follow the "Dongfang Yanhu City" official WeChat account to avoid missing out (some outdoor performances are canceled on rainy days)

No need to rush here. Stroll Taoist temples and take ancient-style photos during the day, watch light shows and listen to folk songs at night. Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai friends, go all out during National Day, you will really fall in love!
