This train takes about 2 hours to travel 11.6 kilometers round trip, and is one of the three meter-gauge train experiences in Honghe Prefecture. What’s rare is that the round-trip ticket is only 20 yuan, and it passes through the city and fields, with culverts, canyons, stone bridges, green trees and red flowers, and the scenery is endless.

Don't forget to feel the feeling of sticking your head and hands out of the window (safe section). In the green mountains, there was a moment that looked like a small train from Sri Lanka.

Opening the "Yunnan-Vietnam Railway" in Amizhou

It is said that the carriages and locomotive of this train are original, with a speed of 35 kilometers per hour and not many tourists. When the vehicle entered the tunnel, it seemed as if it was the Amizhou Station of the past. The train whistled long, drove into the bustle, and then into silence.

Back then, the teachers and students of Southwest Associated University traveled through Vietnam and took the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway to Kunming. It was also from this train that they began their incredible years at the United Nations.

The city brought by the train is not simple

The little train can be a reason to come to Kaiyuan, but it’s not the only reason. This small industrial town is decorated with lush greenery, including royal poinciana and small-leaved banyan trees. It is both retro and modern, with both French romance and the mottled Russian style of the former Soviet Union.

The most unforgettable thing is Kaiyuan's delicious food, including rice noodles, barbecue, and snacks.

▪️The train can be booked one day in advance, with a round trip fare of 18.8 for a hard seat and 48.8 for a soft seat. Buy 20 and 50 round trip tickets on site
▪️There are only a few drinks and snacks on the bus, it is recommended to bring your own
▪️There are three trips a day: 9:18, 12:30, 16:00, and additional trips will be added during holidays
▪️There are 7 stops along the way, and the final stop is at the tower for 15 minutes, where you can watch the train turn around
▪️If you choose the 16:00 train, you can get off at 1909 Square Station on your return trip and then visit Phoenix Ecological Park. The sunset at this hour is very beautiful and not too sunny

▪️The best place to take photos with your head out is Namdong Station. The scenery is better. You can take photos in the car during the 1 minute stop.
