Kamakura is a small seaside town just about 1 hour from Tokyo, but it feels like a whole different world! The atmosphere is chill, with famous temples, cute cafes, trendy souvenir shops, and beaches perfect for a seaside stroll.
✅ Must-visit highlights:
• Great Buddha (Kamakura Daibutsu)
A large outdoor Buddha statue, peaceful, beautiful, and a symbol of this city
• Hasedera Temple
Features a garden and a sea-viewing spot with an authentic Japanese vibe
• Komachi Street
A street full of food and shopping for young people! Includes roasted sweet potatoes, stuffed mochi, and authentic Japanese-style souvenirs
• Yuigahama Beach
Relax by the beach; sunset photos here are amazing

🚆 How to get there from Tokyo
Starting point: Tokyo Station or Shinjuku
🔹 1. JR Yokosuka Line
• From Tokyo Station → Kamakura Station
• Takes about ~1 hour
• Price ≈ 940 yen
• Direct line, no transfers needed
🔹 2. From Shinjuku: JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line
• Take a train heading directly to “Zushi” or “Odawara” and get off at Kamakura
• Takes about ≈ 1 – 1.2 hours
• Price is similar
