During my recent trip to central Taiwan, I stayed at the absolutely stunning Cingjing Star LOHAS Homestay near Cingjing Farm! This place seems purpose-built for stargazing and cloud sea viewing - lying in bed you can see a sky full of stars, making it one of the most romantic homestays I've ever experienced π«
β¨ Starlight Rooms
The most unique feature is their starlight suite with a full glass ceiling design. Lying on the king-size bed, you get a 360Β° unobstructed view of the Milky Way. The butler mentioned that during the Perseid meteor shower in August-September, rooms here are often fully booked!
π Cloud Sea Views
Perched at 1,750 meters elevation facing the Central Mountain Range, breathtaking cloud seas often appear at dawn. The rooftop observation deck comes with free-to-use telescopes for guests.
π Convenient Transportation
Though mountainous, access is easy:
β’ About 2 hours by Nantou Bus from Taichung HSR Station
β’ Paid shuttle service available (advance booking required)
β’ Direct navigation for self-drivers with dedicated parking
π‘ Homestay Facilities
β’ Floor heating in every room (perfect for winter)
β’ DIY pour-over coffee bar in common area
β’ Beautiful landscaped garden courtyard
β’ Complimentary coffee + high mountain tea
π½οΈ Dining Recommendations
Breakfast features authentic congee with local side dishes. For dinner, try the nearby "Carton King" for their signature paper hotpot - the milk hotpot and Yunnan-style rice noodles are delicious!
πΈ Photo Spots
1. Long exposure shots in starlight room
2. Cloud sea sunrise at observation deck
3. Group photos in the garden
4. Bald cypress-lined path at entrance
