🪷 [Hase-dera Temple, Kamakura] A relaxing temple where you can be healed by the sea, flowers, and Kannon
Hasedera Temple, located on a hill in Hase, Kamakura, is a temple of Kannon, surrounded by seasonal flowers, sea views, and great mercy.
Known as the "Temple of Flowers," many people visit the temple in search of healing, especially during the hydrangea season in June, when colorful flowers dye the mountains.
🌼 The flowers blooming in the temple grounds can be enjoyed throughout the year, and you can enjoy different expressions from plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, hydrangeas, and autumn leaves no matter how many times you visit.
The "Hydrangea Road," where about 40 types of 2,500 hydrangeas bloom, is a spectacular spot where you can see all the way to the sea from the observation deck. A typical Kamakura landscape spreads out before you.
🙏 The principal image is the "Eleven-faced Kannon Bodhisattva." It is one of the largest wooden Buddha statues in Japan, and its 9.18-meter figure is powerful and gives a deep sense of security.
In the "Benten Cave" enshrined inside the cave, you can spend a quiet time praying among the carvings on the walls and the tranquil atmosphere.
📍Access: 5 minutes on foot from Enoshima Electric Railway "Hase Station"
🕊️Visiting hours: 8:00-17:00 (until 17:30 in June-August)
🎫Admission fee: 400 yen for adults, 300 yen extra during the Hydrangea Road opening period
It is perfect not only during the hydrangea season, but also in the afternoon when you can see the sea and the light, or on days when you want to feel the tranquility of the morning.
It is a "gentle place in Kamakura" that you should drop in to when you want to relax your mind.
