🏛️Kamakura Carving Sunmatsudo
"This building was built in 1936 by Nishii Kiichi and his son Shoji, carpenters from the city, as a store and residence for Kamakura carving artist Sato Sogaku. Modern Western-style architectural techniques can be seen in the glass doors and show windows of the first floor store, but the overall building resembles a combination of temple and castle architecture. Since its construction, Sunmatsudo has played an important role as a landmark of the Sasamemachi and Hase areas. 』
