Wai Lingding Island is located southeast of Xiangzhou Island in Zhuhai, 11 nautical miles from Tsim Sha Tsui Harbor in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is named Wai Lingding Island because of its isolation and location within the Outer Lingding region. It is the only island from which you can see downtown Hong Kong. It is also the inspiration for the famous line from the poem "Crossing the Lingding Ocean" by the national hero Wen Tianxiang: "Since ancient times, everyone has to die, but I will leave behind my loyalty to shine through history."
Outer Lingding Island has unique and vivid peaks and rocks, the sea water is extremely blue, and the air is fresh. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, on a sunny day with a gentle breeze, the Lingdingyang Ocean is connected by azure blue, and the sea and sky are one color; at dusk with a thin mist, the sea is reflected with crimson clouds, and the fishing boats sing in the evening; in the clouds, rain and fog, the scenery of the Victoria Harbour appears and disappears, like a mirage in a dream.
The island boasts attractions such as Lingding Peak, the main peak, the Acacia Forest, an observation deck, the Beidi Morning Bell, the Wishing Well, the Wanshan Chess Game, and Shijing Park. It also offers a hotel, a pier, shops, and other supporting facilities. The bird's-eye view of the entire island, including the ocean, the island town, the jagged rocks, and the misty clouds, is breathtakingly beautiful.
Wailingding Island has a typical subtropical rainforest landscape and an island Eden style. It is not scorching hot in summer and is like spring all year round.
