•The old building closed in 2016 and was renovated by Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and reopened as the new building in June 2019.
•The old building has been designated an Important Cultural Property of Kanagawa Prefecture and the nation.
🎨 Exhibits
•Seasonal Exhibitions: Organized several times a year around the history and culture of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and Kamakura. Example: "Gods and Dance" Exhibition, June 21–September 28, 2025.
•Special Exhibitions: Delve deeper into Kamakura-related themes. There are no permanent exhibitions, and the museum focuses primarily on special exhibitions.
•The architectural space also offers many highlights: a courtyard bathed in natural light, a first-floor terrace extending to the pond, and an L-shaped exhibition room on the second floor.
☕ Cafe & Shop
•"Kaze no Mori" is a cafe built using the trunk of the former large ginkgo tree. It offers an open space overlooking the pond and forest.
•Enjoy original Japanese sweets, hot sandwiches, and drinks.
