Guide to Hokkaido's Biei~!

After spending the first night in Sounkyo, I left the hotel at 5 AM to join the sea of clouds tour I had signed up for. I took a stroll around the area and enjoyed the early morning air from 6 to 7 AM before riding the Kurodake Ropeway.

After breakfast, I took a local bus to Asahikawa and had lunch at Hachiya Ramen, which was designated as a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2017. Interestingly, the atmosphere felt familiar, and upon checking old photos, I realized I had visited this place back in 2013! 😂

Back then, I remembered the broth being quite salty, but now it suits my taste. Is it because of the Michelin recognition, or have my taste buds adapted after visiting Japan over 150 times in the past decade?

After enjoying the ramen, I left my luggage at the second-day hotel and headed to Higashikagura near the airport (a place I had noticed on the way from the airport on the first day) for a neighborhood stroll.

I then caught the 66 bus to Asahidake, arriving at 3 PM. I spent 1.5 hours hiking through snowy trails before descending and enjoying a day-trip onsen at Asahidake.

On the way back to Asahikawa, I stopped by Higashikawa (another place I had noticed earlier) for a neighborhood walk and had dinner featuring the local specialty, Chinese soba. Finally, I checked into my second-day hotel in Asahikawa and went to bed around 9 PM. Thank you!
