I went to Kamikochi in autumn from Takayama City.

The other day, I took a bus from Hirayu Bus Terminal to Kamikochi.

Kamikochi was in the middle of the autumn foliage, and the area was full of people enjoying autumn.

The temperature is low in the morning, so a thin down jacket is probably the best clothing, but

Kamikochi is a place where you walk, so your body will warm up as you walk.

Be sure to bring items that can regulate your body temperature.
It is warm in the direct sunlight, but it gets cold as soon as you go into the shade.

Also, the wind gets stronger in the afternoon, so it feels even colder.

Kamikochi is one of Japan's scenic spots

It is an area where you can easily enjoy beautiful scenery,

so it is one of the spots we would like many people to enjoy.

*Kamikochi is scheduled to close on November 15th.

Access by car: Approx. 90-120 minutes
From downtown Takayama, take Route 158 towards Hirayu, and drive for approx. 60 minutes
From Akandana Parking Lot, take the bus bound for Kamikochi to Taisho Pond and Kamikochi Bus Terminal.
Access by public transport: Approx. 120 minutes
From Nohi Bus Takayama Bus Center to Hirayu Bus Terminal, then take the bus bound for Kamikochi from Hirayu Bus Terminal.

※There is also a scenic spot in Hida Takayama called Mt. Norikura, but this year the Mt. Norikura Echo Line (from Matsumoto) is closed due to snow on the road. ※The Mt. Norikura Skyline (from Takayama) is closed this year.
