Kaohsiung - Shoushan Zoo, a great place for a holiday outing

As a kid from Kaohsiung, Shoushan Zoo finally reopened in December 2022. It is the Kaohsiung Municipal Zoo and one of the three largest municipal zoos in Taiwan, second only to Taipei Muzha Zoo!

The zoo covers an area of ​​more than 12 hectares and has seven themed exhibition areas. After the renovation in 2022, the animal divisions have not changed much. Almost all the animals inside are the original residents.
This major renovation is mainly to create a modern zoo that is in line with animal welfare and a friendly visitor space.

In addition to improving the animal living environment, park activity space and hardware equipment, the zoo has also added an "air walk corridor" to make visitors' views and circulation more comfortable, an "observation corridor" to get up close to the animals, and parent-child interaction to cool off. The "Water Plaza" for playing in the water, the "Children's Pasture" where free grass is regularly distributed to feed the sheep, and the oversized iron cage area where the chimpanzees were originally housed was transformed into a textured cafe "Light Is Café", etc., making the zoo more than just a Just looking at animals😍
