It was originally the "Kaohsiung Shrine" and was converted into the Martyrs' Shrine in 1945. It was demolished and rebuilt on the original site in July 1974. It has a main hall, a mountain gate, and corridors, all of which are traditional Chinese-style buildings and were completed in February 1976. This year, the National Day fireworks show will be hosted by Kaohsiung City. What else can you do on National Day if not watch the fireworks show? The fireworks show will be launched at Pier 2, and the best viewing locations are listed online. Shoushan Martyrs' Shrine is one of them, with a commanding view that is unobstructed. After watching the performance at Weiwuying in the afternoon, I immediately rushed to the Martyrs' Shrine. Although it was only four o'clock in the afternoon and there were still four hours before the release time at eight o'clock in the evening, the scene was already crowded with people. On weekdays, the Martyrs' Shrine and the Love Observation Deck are the best places to enjoy the view of Kaohsiung Harbor, and are also places that many couples like to visit. Nowadays, the Martyrs' Shrine is not only for soldiers who died in the line of duty but also for other civil servants who died in the line of duty. This is to honor these people who sacrificed their lives while performing their duties for the country.
