Wulongtan, located at the foot of a mountain stream in the eastern valley of Mount Lu, is composed of three pools of varying sizes. Sancho recorded in his book "Lushan Chronicles": " Of the three pools surrounding Wulongtan, the middle and upper pools are tens or hundreds of feet high. Inhabited by a black catfish-like insect, three or four inches long, are dragon masters. The lower pool is slightly flatter, flanked by large rocks, and is where Donglin Temple holds dragon sacrifices. "
The water from the Wulongtan Waterfall comes from Lulin and Changchong, which flows all year round. The water in the pool is divided into five streams, floating down from the cracks in the rocks and cascading into waterfalls, like five brilliant silver shuttles standing obliquely in front of the cliff. Their momentum is short and powerful, and they converge to form a pool. The sound is melodious, and if you sit and listen quietly, it sounds like a silver harp, plucking the melodious strings day and night. It is really a scene of strange rocks hanging in the distance, waterfalls flowing in different directions, and a pleasant and beautiful sound like a harp.
The words " Longquan " are engraved on a large rock to the left of the pond . The lower end of the pond is flat, wide, and shallow, with numerous rocks and clear water, creating a tranquil spot for quiet contemplation and viewing the waterfall. This clear mountain spring, sweet, gentle, pure, and elegant, invites one to " watch, drink, play, and love it . " As Wu Mai, a prominent lawyer from the Republican era, remarked: " I sit bareheaded and barefoot on the stone beam, sometimes lying on a stone pillow like the Emperor Xi. Washing my hat and feet is my own responsibility, and here I vaguely recall the waves. "
The water flow is the largest in summer, making it the best time to visit.
