Taiwan Travel/ Playing on Qijin Island in Kaohsiung

As soon as I stepped off the ferry onto Cijin Island, I was greeted by an atmosphere completely different from Kaohsiung's main island. There were fewer cars, almost no high-rise buildings, and above all, the sea felt much closer.
Walking slowly toward the northern coast of the island, I came across a long promenade and coastal park. From that moment, the pace of my journey slowed down entirely.
The sound of waves constantly filled my ears, a gentle breeze brushed against my face, the endless sea stretched out to my left, and to my right, there were grassy fields and benches to rest on.
It was a path without a specific destination or attractions to seek out. Simply walking while gazing at the sea was enough.
Although the sky was slightly overcast, it made the sea even calmer. Instead of sparkling under the sunlight, the serene grayish hue of the sea left a deeper impression on me that day.
Cijin Island is a travel destination quite different from bustling tourist spots. It's a place where you can enjoy solitude, where doing nothing is perfectly fine, and where you can simply walk by the sea and take a break.
