Last year, I returned to Kaohsiung and lived there for 10 months. I ate at the best restaurant I've ever been to. I'd taken a taxi with a driver who worked at the Silks Place Hotel. The driver said he often visited the two-Michelin-starred chef, Jiang Zhencheng, there. Chef Jiang often went to Lianghuo Beef Sauce Rice when he came to Kaohsiung. I'd always remembered it from my food blog. Dinner, I suddenly remembered this place and decided to go to it. It's a clean, dark-colored restaurant with a cool, bald chef. I ordered beef sauce rice with a poached egg, beef offal soup, pickled radish, smoked pig ears, and crispy sausage. It was spotless, and I could tell the chef put so much effort into the cooking. It was delicious. The beef sauce rice was evenly balanced, with a rich, mellow flavor. I couldn't stop eating. (Beef offal soup) The broth is a creamy yellow. It's delicious. I asked the chef how he made it, and he told me he uses his cooking method, just like Japanese ramen. It's delicious. The beef offal is also cooked very tender and melts in your mouth. (Pickled radish) It's very crispy and flavorful. It's the best restaurant I ate at in Kaohsiung in October. Highly recommended.
