Just arrived in Kaohsiung...I fell in love at first sight.

I have never been to Kaohsiung, a large city in southern Taiwan. After finishing my trip at Sun Moon Lake, I took the high-speed rail from Taichung to Xin Zuo Ying Station in the center of Kaohsiung. It took less than two hours.

This train station is a major tourist attraction in Kaohsiung. They are all within walking distance of each other.

The first place is the Kaohsiung Confucius Temple. This temple was newly built but modeled after the Song Dynasty. It is the largest and most sacred Confucian temple in Taiwan.

Inside the temple, there is a statue of Confucius and his stories. He is considered a great teacher, so a Teacher's Day event is held on his birthday.

This temple is very beautiful. I am impressed. Every corner I walk around is beautiful and elegant. I sat down to take a break from the sun in the pavilion surrounding the large temple. The wind was nice and refreshing. I will walk to the nearby lotus pond viewpoint.
