Wind chimes and Pinwheels

During the summer months you can sneak away from Tokyo and visit the Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine for a beautiful festival.
At the end of June through the summer months they put up a long corridor of wind chimes that sound magical when the wind blows.
While there is a main long stretch of wind chimes look around the Shrine’s grounds to find different ones.
Before they have the wind chime festival they decorate with pinwheels and these are also still around the temple.
Truly a place to visit to get away from the hustle and fuss of the big city

🚗 to get there you can take the Tobu-Tojo Line from Tokyo. Once at the Kawagoe Station get on bus 6 to take you to the shrine area. Also bus 1 can take you near the shrine but you will need to walk a little further.

📷 go in a pleasant day to get some gorgeous photos of the wind chimes in the sun with a crisp blue sky

📍Don’t forget to c hr deck out other places in Kawagoe like Penny Candy Street and the “Little Edo” area. All are walking distance from the shrine.

❗️make sure to wear sunblock and bug spray. The shrine is surrounded by trees and varies butting bugs live there. #kawagoe #hikawashrine #littleedo #pennycandystreet
