Daming Temple in Tongling County, located in Minghu Village, Shun'an Town, Yi'an District, is a renowned Jiangnan temple. Built in 1063 ( the eighth year of the Jiayou reign of the Northern Song Dynasty ) , it boasts a thousand-year history. Despite the vicissitudes of time, its remains remain. The temple is surrounded by pine trees, bamboo shadows, and strange rocks. Nearby are the Lingdou and Haiyan springs, which flow year-round.

The temple is magnificent, housing over 100 Buddha statues of various sizes , and is permeated with incense year-round. During the early years of the Cultural Revolution , Daming Temple remained relatively intact, but was destroyed by rebels in 1969. Only four side rooms remain, along with stele inscriptions from Qing and Republican-era reconstructions.

Later, Daming Temple was built by nun Shi Guocheng, who raised some donations and gradually renovated some of the temple buildings, including halls, side rooms and kitchens. Judging from the style and scale of the entire temple building, it appears small and exquisite, and it has a natural charm among the mountains.

Behind Daming Temple, on the north side of Huangling Mountain, lies the mountain. Surrounded by lush forests and bamboo groves, shrouded in clouds and mist, the mountain offers a delightful scenery, with flowing springs in the valley, birdsong, and the fragrance of flowers. The steep cliffs remain moist year-round, and two crab-eye-shaped holes in the grotto stone gush out clear springs year-round.
