We spent three days in Keelung and absolutely loved it — a perfect mix of harbour scenery, city lights, and peaceful spots tucked into the hills. We stayed at the Evergreen Laurel Keelung Hotel, which had beautiful sea views and a great location right by the waterfront. Watching the ships come and go from our window each morning was such a treat.
One of our highlights was the Keelung Tower, which lights up beautifully at night and gives amazing views across the city. We also walked across the Magpie Bridge — especially pretty in the evening when it’s all lit up — and climbed up to the Zhongzheng Park temple on the mountain. The views from the top were incredible, and it felt calm and peaceful after the busy streets below.
Just nearby, we found a lovely play park that the kids adored — clean, colourful, and with plenty of space to run around while we enjoyed the breeze and the view. Nearby, you'll find temples, caves and historical streets... complimented by modern malls wtih arcades on the roof! Keelung is a dream destination for families with kids.
Keelung has such a nice mix of modern energy and quiet corners. Three days felt just right to explore, relax, and soak up the charm of this underrated harbour city.
