Wat Salak, Trat Province

🌿This ancient temple is deeply connected to historical events. It is believed that King Taksin the Great once halted his army here to escape the monsoon winds, thus deeming the area sacred.

🌿The old ubosot (viharn) houses a Buddha image in the meditation posture, decorated with jasmine motifs. Inside, there are Buddha footprints, and three 12-sided chedis containing the ashes of soldiers who helped save the nation.

🌿The new ubosot is a striking white building with Buddha images on both sides (front and back) and graceful stucco decorations.
