A Peaceful Escape in Musandam

My trip to Musandam, Oman was short but absolutely unforgettable. It perfectly combined comfort, adventure, and the breathtaking beauty of Oman’s northern coast.

I arrived in Khasab by bus from Ras Al Khaimah, enjoying the scenic ride through dramatic mountain landscapes and the deep blue coastline. The journey itself already felt like an adventure, and crossing into Oman was smooth and easy.

I spent the night at Atana Khasab Resort, which turned out to be the perfect choice. The hotel has a wonderful location overlooking the sea, with spacious rooms, friendly staff, and a calm atmosphere. I arrived just before sunset and spent the evening relaxing by the pool and enjoying the incredible view of the fjords as the sun went down — such a peaceful and unforgettable moment.

The next morning, I joined a 4-hour dhow cruise, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The traditional wooden dhow was comfortable and beautifully maintained, with shaded seating and soft cushions. The crew was so welcoming and made sure everyone had a great time.

Sailing through Musandam’s fjords felt magical — surrounded by towering cliffs, clear turquoise water, and total tranquility. We stopped for swimming and snorkeling, and the water was warm and crystal clear. I was lucky to see dolphins swimming alongside the boat, which made the experience even more special. Drinks and fresh fruit were served on board, and the entire cruise was relaxing, well-organized, and full of stunning scenery.

After returning from the cruise, I had a few quiet hours to enjoy the resort before heading to the airport for my evening flight to Muscat. The short flight offered one last look at the dramatic coastline from above — a beautiful farewell to Musandam.

From start to finish, this trip was an amazing experience. The combination of Atana Resort’s comfort, the unforgettable dhow cruise, and the natural beauty of Musandam made it truly special. It’s the perfect getaway for anyone looking for peace, adventure, and authentic Omani hospitality.
