Pha Taem –
A legendary landmark of Ubon Ratchathani
🌄 Highlights: The first sunrise viewing point in Thailand
Pha Taem is located in Pha Taem National Park, Khong Chiam District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, and is well-known as “the first sunrise viewing point in Thailand.” In late to early spring, the first light of the day appears above the horizon, amidst a thin sea of mist and the shadows of mountains along the Mekong River — an atmosphere that is not only beautiful, but also filled with the power of nature.
🏞 Nature + History in one place
In addition to the spectacular view, Pha Taem also has many other interesting things:
Ancient paintings about 3,000–4,000 years old on a cliff over 180 meters long, showing the way of life of prehistoric humans, such as hunting, fishing, and mysterious symbols.
Sao Cheliang – Natural stone pillars with unusual shapes formed by wind and rain erosion, resembling sculptures made by human hands.
Nature trails are easy to walk and suitable for tourists of all ages.
