See the first light of Siam and see ancient paintings at Pha Taem, Ubon.

Pha Taem, a national park brimming with natural charm and ancient historical relics.

🌄 Catch the first light of the day

I set out early in the morning to catch the sunrise over the Mekong River. It was worth it! Pha Taem is considered one of the most beautiful spots to view the "First Light of Siam." The sun slowly rose above the horizon, casting golden reflections on the water and mountains in front of me, instantly relieving my exhaustion.

🎨 The Mystery of the Ancient Paintings

Afterward, I walked down to admire the ancient paintings on the cliff walls. This is a must-see highlight. These paintings, over 3,000 years old, depict human figures, animals, fishing tools, and various symbols reflecting the way of life of ancient people. It's amazing how these are still so clearly visible today.

🌳 Surrounding Nature

In addition to the paintings, Pha Taem also offers nature trails, sparse forests, and arid land, creating a unique hiking experience unlike anywhere else. If you walk along the path, you'll reach a viewpoint with a panoramic view of the Mekong River.

🕘 Opening Hours

Pha Taem National Park is open daily:
⏰ 5:30 AM - 6:00 PM
(If you want to see the sunrise, we recommend arriving before dawn.)
